Sports Massage

Sports massage incorporates specific scientific techniques and stretches on soft tissues to help achieve maximum performance and physical conditioning, reducing the chance of injury or pain. It is usually implemented to increase power, endurance, and flexibility before or after exercise.

After an injury, the body attempts to repair itself. During this repair, protein fibres and scar tissues will begin to form and orientate themselves in the direction in which pressure is applied. Sports massage will help to reduce muscle tone, loosen adhesions of muscle fibres and connective tissues, stretch and increase circulation, and decrease the effects of fibrous thickening.


A sports massage therapist will be able to use specific techniques to help achieve this effect which will greatly benefit the healing process, allowing you to return to sport quicker and more efficiently.
